Our stay at Ashley and Nathan's could not have been better! Our family of five (including three small children aged 5mo-5years) was extremely comfortable here. We were pretty devastated to have to leave our home nearby as it was having some surprise renovations done, but Ashley and her family went out of their way to ensure our stay was perfect.
The home itself is very well cared for, very comfortable, and warm. Lots of wonderful touches - a piano, movies, games, books. Beautiful art scattered throughout.
I LIVED in this house for months. Really lived - cooked, cleaned, entertained friends, and just led a typical family life. To be able to do that while not in my own home and with a tiny baby and two preschoolers was something I didn’t expect to have.
I am nothing but grateful to these wonderful people for all their generosity during this chaotic time in our lives. If you are in need of a comfortable, beautiful place for your family for a short or long time, I highly recommend staying here.
What is the Crieve Hall Neighborhood like?
There are plenty of things to do in Nashville, and this is just one of many lists of the awesomeness that Nashville offers! (Check out here and here for even more ideas, especially for families). We love all the Farmer's Markets around, even one in the neighborhood on Thursdays in the summer.
This neighborhood is conveniently located near the main interstate, has larger lots and ranch-style homes from the 50s. It's been up-and-coming for a while and we've loved watching it grow as new renovations have come through - we used to host the first ever "Crieve Hall Tour of Homes" where neighbors had a blast showing off their custom renovations and creativity in these versatile homes.
We have a diverse community of residents - there are still many original homeowners as well as young families who have moved in. The Crieve Hall Neighborhood Association offers things like a summer Farmer's Market, Farmin' in the Hall, and more events, and the Crieve Hall NextDoor App is always active with neighbors letting everyone know what's going on in the area and what to look out for. Farmin' in the Hall, the neighborhood Farmers Market, just celebrated their ten year anniversary in 2022!
House Logistics
About the house - when you arrive you'll have a 3-ring-binder giving you the full tour, as well as any logistical tidbits. Here are a few things we've added for you - welcome to your first "tour":
A lot of the landscaping is pretty natural with perennials and also herbs - you'll find sage and lemon-balm growing in the front, rosemary and lavender along the sidewalk, and more lemon-balm growing along the side of the house!

We have ample storage for all your gear - a full two car open garage, parking on the side, plus cleared out closets along with cleaning supplies already there.

The Living Room
The living room is full of everything you need to chill - TV, plenty of DVDs for all ages, a piano, guitar, and plenty of floor space for stretching or doing yoga!

Kitchen/Dining Room
In the kitchen, we have a dishwasher, garbage disposal, utensils and eating/cooking ware. The closet in the kitchen has a vacuum, broom, mop, dustpan and ironing board.

Bathrooms
There are two bathrooms - one with a full bath/shower, and the other ironically right next it with a toilet and sink.
There are towels and washcloths in the closet in the green bathroom. If you've forgotten any toiletries, there is a CVS right around the corner!

What others are saying...

Staying at Ashley's place was incredible. We have two children and the outdoor space was so much fun for them; we practically lived outside. The home itself is so comfortable and inviting. Our 15 month old could wander without any worries. Thanks to Ashley for her generous hospitality!

“
Stayed at Ashley's place for several weeks following an international move while we closed on our permanent home. It was FANTASTIC! Communication was great, everything was handled, and everyone is incredibly friendly.
Home was perfect for us with our 3 dogs - impossible to find anywhere else who would allow that. The house was perfect for us, and the fenced in yard was hugely helpful. Incredibly value as well with great location. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Our family of 4 + our dog stayed here. The house had a very positive and welcoming energy and all of us more than enjoyed our stay. Ashley was very responsive from before the booking until we left and was an amazing host. The amenities at the house made us feel at home. Our dog loved the big fenced yard. Absolutely would recommend anyone visiting Nashville especially with family to stay at Ashley's place.

Relaxation Room
Bedroom with queen mattress, small armoire and closet space. Bonus of some books and games for those that are young at heart!

Office Room
This has a top loft bed (with a great ridge so it's sleeps pretty low - no big falling off risks), and a desk below. Oftentimes this is converted into the private office for business execs when they stay here!

Primary Bedroom
On the complete opposite end of the house (through the kitchen) is the primary bedroom. It has a king-sized bed, and there are large drawers underneath the bed you can store your things in. The fans are remote-control with variable speeds, you can set them on a timer, and the lights will dim as well.
Laundry: The HE washer/dryer is in the closet in the primary room.

Backyard Oasis
Straight off the main bedroom is the back yard. The porch is our special haven - with the fan blowing on the patio, it's the perfect place to relax and unwind while keeping the bugs at bay. The table can convert to full size and seat six around it, or down to a four-person. We just keep it up and gather around it with the papasan chairs for wonderful shaded outdoor meals!

Along the side of the garage are blackberries - during the summertime it'll be exploding with berries, and it's thornless...but watch out for the roses - they are just as prevalent!

We were thrilled with our last minute booking of this adorable house. Our kids are 9 and 13 and really enjoyed having their own rooms with bunks! The hosts made us feel SO welcome. The accommodations were fantastic. Super comfy beds (and sheets!), lots of plush towels, wonderful access to plenty of DVD's, plenty of fridge space, great kitchen to cook in, and they even gave us handy directions and tips for local attractions. Lots of windows so the home felt light and bright. Spacious too! Great, safe neighborhood with quick, easy access to and from the highway. Excellent proximity to both downtown and south Nashville (Franklin area). Also loved having covered parking in the back of the house so our van didn't get hot during the day. This home was a real treat for us to stay in compared to our usual hotels. The hosts were an absolute pleasure to deal with and we felt so comfortable during our stay. We'll be sure to book again next time we travel to Nashville!!

“
I would stay at this great home again without any hesitation. Ashley and her husband were incredibly welcoming and easy to talk to.
I defy anyone to find a cooler back porch. There was a lot of rain when I was there, so my friends and I spent our evenings under the porch, listening to the rain, and talking about life. It was great!
If you're looking for a place close to downtown Nashville (a super cheap ride with Uber or Lyft), but want a quiet place to come back and relax, this place is perfect. The house was very clean and the hosts couldn't be better. I can't recommend this enough!

“
The location is conveniently located 10-15 minutes from downtown Nashville, with Uber/Lyft rides costing as little as 11 dollars! The house is clean and comfortable and kid friendly, with a beautiful backyard. There is a comfortable living room with surround sound. The host was easy to contact and really worked to ensure we felt comfortable and knew where everything was. I could not imagine a nicer place to stay if you are looking to enjoy the excitement of Nashville, but still be able to return to a quiet cozy place at the end of the day.
