Your PSA and Holiday Tip:
Hi, I'm Ashley Logsdon, founder of Mama Says Namaste, and guest on the Sustainable Minimalists Podcast, Episode 36 - Minimalism for the home, the head, and the heart.
This is an important subject, as minimalism is so much about a mindset approach of getting intentional about what fills our lives in every way!
With the hubbub of the holiday season, it can get stressful and overwhelming, navigating gift-giving and obligations, and it's an important time to take a breather and focus on what really matters!

In my work as a marriage and family coach, I help parents move from chaos and reaction mode to living a life of intention, thriving in their strengths, and not waiting for one day to create the life you love to come home to.
The foundation of all my work is on first knowing who you are. Utilizing personality assessments with my clients has been incredible. It opens the door to deeper introspection, validation, and understanding as we dig into what really resonates and how you are personally motivated.
Taking this a step further to seeing how the rest of your family ticks can take your family to a whole new place of deeper connection and open communication. My Namaste Personality Snapshots are to take a look deeper than the surface, and uncover the strengths, motivators and communication tips so we truly recognize how the uniqueness in each of us strengthens all of us.
My advice to you is this - just like minimalism is about so much more than just a clean countertop, connection with others is about so much more than simply the words you communicate.
Get to know your family on a deeper level, and be willing to invest in what matters. As we think of gifts this holiday season, maybe it's not about one more toy or that big Disney trip, but creating the opportunity to get to know one another.
Create a family vision - dream with your family about what that looks like and what is most important to each of you. Look for opportunities to truly meet each other where you are - creating space to listen, to touch, and to create together.
Invest in more than a one-time gift. Get intentional about honing in on long-lasting growth together by doing a family project, learning more about your personality styles, creating homemade gifts together, and making memories with game nights and more.
Take a deep breath and remember what's important for you this holiday season. Do a brain dump of all the to-dos and get them out of your head and onto paper. Then choose one thing to start with. When you break it down into little steps, it gets much easier.
And if you remember that one most important thing of family connection, you'll find it's easier to say no to the obligatory things while saying yes to focusing in on the ones who make your world go round. The peace, calm, joy and light in me recognizes the peace, calm, joy and light in you. Namaste.
