  • Why a Family Road Trip? (Episode 166)

Have you ever considered an epic family road trip? Nathan and I reflect on our why behind taking a family road trip...one that has now lasted almost 4 years!

In this podcast episode, we talk about some of the questions we've been asked about being on the road full time, and share about our course, 90 Day Family Road Trip

The biggest switch toward a happy life is shifting from reaction to intention.

Ask Us Anything

Pin for later:

When Nathan and I were trying to figure out the best schooling option for our three girls, I asked my friends and sought the guidance of parents who have already made those decisions for their kids.

When it was time to potty train, decide how to handle the holidays with extended family, combat mama overwhelm, develop a new level of connection with my husband, figure out how to go on the road full-time with my family ... and the list goes on and on ... I ask.

So that's why I'm starting a new segment on my podcast once a month. I'm calling it "Ask Us Anything."

The first podcast of each month will be answering your direct questions. So, Ask Us Anything! If we don't know the answer, we'll help you figure it out.

Family Travel Day

Family Road Trip

Our family road trip started with a us setting goals, getting to the root of the feeling behind the goal, and getting real with the fact that "one day" will always remain elusive unless we put a date on it.

So we did, and we launched, and we haven't looked back. It's been a blast, even if it's not always been rainbows and unicorns. There are ups and downs of life on the road, just like any other. And the biggest thing that keeps us sane is living a life with intention vs. simply reacting to what comes our way.

Clearly laying out expectations, discussing our "why", and knowing personality styles have been the three most powerful things to make this lifestyle work for us...and these three things are the same tools you can use for your own life. It's not about one right way to do things.

You may have other desires that don't include travel. Think about what you want to do and where you want to go in life - as an individual, and as a family. What can you start to create together, simply focusing on getting to the root of why, knowing yourself and your loved ones well, and clearly communicating expectations?

Our Message to you:

And a special clip from our FAQs...

Your Weekly Challenge:

What is it you really want to do as a family? What is holding you back? Have you all discussed it together, or is a dream lying in the heads of some and not the others?

What is truly important to you? Do you have this added into your life? If not...why?

Life may look different for you than it does us. That's a given - you're different people!! So don't just watch or listen to our story; create your own. What type of life do you want to live? And if you aren't doing it already...what's still holding you back?

Let me know where you're stuck. It may be we've been through it, or know some tools to walk you through it yourself. Remember, we all have different gifts we bring to the table. That's how the uniqueness in each of us strengthens all of us! Namaste.
